Santa Fe, New Mexico
Life was turned upside down for all of us in 2020 and my husband and I “made friends with change.” We moved away from Los Angeles to a gold rush town called Nevada City, CA. We lived in the woods, gardened, swam in lakes and rivers, explored new possibilities and creative interests, hiked, experienced full seasons again, went deep within ourselves and took care through the height of the pandemic and chaos of the times. It was a transformative and treasured time while also being one of uncertainty and hardship. We had to let go of the life we had built for ourselves in LA to welcome in new experiences. A lesson in duality. Bitter & sweet. All things can exist within us at once. We have been so fortunate and for that I am endlessly grateful.
The tide has shifted again and we found ourselves picking up and moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico. This has been our biggest move yet and we feel like strangers in a faraway land. New Mexico is sacred and holds so much history, culture and beauty. It’s no secret as to why it’s referred to as The Land of Enchantment. Everyone we’ve met has been kind and welcoming. We have moved here with no expectations, no pressure, no big plan. Just to adventure, experience more of the world and learn new things. I’ve always wanted to live in many different places and I value the expansion it brings. We’ll see what happens!
Zippy Guerin and I have been IG friends for a couple years now. It was so fun to finally be able to meet up in real life! We went on a hike together and caught some dreamy evening light. Zippy is the first person I’ve photographed here and it was so nice to shoot again after pandemic life put everything on hold. Zippy is a creative powerhouse behind and in front of the camera. She is also the founder of Santa Fe Found! She has great taste and is so talented at creating, curating and connecting. I loved photographing such an inspiring woman!
